Osprey Outdoors, a small kayak school in Northern California specializing in small group kayak instruction taught by American Canoe Association certified kayak instructor Michael Kirwin, where kayak lessons lead you to a new level of kayak paddle strokes, kayak rolling, playboating skills and whitewater kayaking fun on the Upper Sacramento River and the Klamath River
Welcome! Your interest in kayaking sets you apart! Your investment will double your energy and enthusiasm for life!

Osprey Outdoors is located in Northern California at the base of Mt. Shasta. Our love for kayaking on lakes and rivers enriches our lives, and we are excited to share that with you!

"Once a student, always a friend!"

Osprey Kayak specializes in teaching paddling skills during tours on high mountain lakes and on the beautiful rivers in the area. With over fifteen years of teaching kayaking combined with more than twelve years as a school teacher, Michael Kirwin can connect with your learning style and create a successful and fun experience for you.

As Michael Kirwin, owner and operator, says, "Every time I get into a kayak and push off from the shore, I feel a sense of incredible happiness and freedom. Once my paddle enters the water, and I start to glide on the surface, I'm soaring like an Osprey. I love teaching kayaking! Sharing those feelings and a chance to experience rivers and lakes with others is awesome."

"People come form all over the place to learn a how to paddle with me. When they leave, they not only know how to paddle a kayak, they also have made new friends!" By providing a small student to teacher ratio, Michael Kirwin is able to connect you with other's successes as well as your own. Using American Canoe Association kayak instructional techniques as well as others used by many cutting edge professionals you will leave with a lot of new paddling skills. Plus you might have learned something about the natural and cultural history, too!
